Mens Hair Restoration

Men's hair restoration seems to be a hot topic now a days.  It may be because the Baby Boomers have reached the age where they are starting to really feel the affects of aging including losing their hair.  It is not surprising that hair loss along with other health issues are in the news day in and day out considering that the biggest demographic group in history has reached the age where these issues are important.

And just like at every other stage of the Boomer's life, they are not afraid to spend money on their health issues and especially to keep up their youthful appearance.  This group of people has always been consumed by fun and youthful pleasures and they are not willing to give that up now.  This includes not only cosmetic surgery but male enhancement drugs also.  Instead of fading into old age the Boomers are rewriting the book on what it means to be 50 or 60 or 70 and still leading an active life.

One area that this group has been very interested in is hair loss and in particular men's hair restoration procedures and products.  This involves everything from natural hair growth supplements to hair implantation surgery.  There are all kinds of possible ways to treat your hair loss and choosing the right one is a matter of determining where you are at on the hair loss continuum and how much money you have to spend.

In order to get the best results for your hair restoration program it is imperative that you start at the earliest possible time to deal with the balding and thinning problems.  Like most health issues, if you start early and prevent the loss it is much easier and cheaper to deal with than if you wait till you are bald and then try to deal with the problem.

There are two drugs that have been approved by the FDA to treat hair loss.  The first is only recommended for and prescribed to men because of the possibility of birth defects.  This drug, Finasteride, works very well when starting early in the hair loss process.  It is a DHT inhibitor and DHT is the substance that causes the hair follicles to stop producing hair shaft material.

The second drug is called Minoxidil but you probably recognize the trade name, Rogaine.  Rogaine is safe for both men and women and it is very effective at stopping hair loss and even regrowing hair on the top of the head and the crown.  If you are serious about starting a hair loss program then Rogaine should definitely be a part of it.
