Is Hair Restoration For Women A Reality

Hair restoration for women is a hot topic as well it should be.  For too many years women have been forced to treat their hair loss with silence and one word:  Wig.  The only option was to purchase a hair piece and cover up the problem.  This didn't work too poorly when women weren't involved in physical activities.  They could just sit around and hold their head up hoping the wig wouldn't fall off.  But this is not satisfactory any more.

The women of today are active and don't want to be held down with worrying if there hair will fall off or not.  It is time for a better solution to female hair problems, one that will get the job done and also allow our wives, daughters, and mothers to lead the active lives they desire.  Skiing, running, and boating are activities that are popular now and a wig wouldn't stay on very long for any of them.

Female Hair Restoration

Men have been enjoying the results of hair restoration procedures for years.  Almost all the work until recently has been done on men, and thus there particular situations have received a lot of research with several good techniques coming out of that.  Originally, the majority of hair implantation surgeries used plug grafts.  These are round sections of scalp that are removed with ten to fifteen hair follicles and associated material.  The surgeon would then make an incision in the scalp of the bald man and transplant in this section of scalp.  This did not give a very good look.  In fact, these plug grafts looked like small islands of hair in a see of baldness.  Picture a very small islet with a few palm trees sticking up out of the sand and you could imagine what this looked like.

Eventually, through trial and error, hair restoration surgeons found ways to work with smaller groups of hair follicles until now, with micro-surgical techniques, it is very common to transplant one to three hair follicles at a time.  This works very well because it is the natural way hair grows.

Hair implants for men work very well because a male tends to lose hair on the top of his head and not at the back or the sides.  This leaves a very good donor area at the back of the head for transplanting the hairs from.  Hair restoration for women physicians usually don't have the luxury of this great donation area.  Instead, a women will usually have hair lose or thinning over her entire head.  This means the restoration surgeon needs to attack things in a different way.

Female Hair Loss

Many people who abuse crash weight loss diets that may be lacking certain nutrients, or  people who follow radically abnormal diet practices, could suffer from protein deficiency which can initiate baldness. The dieter's body will try to conserve essential proteins by reducing the hair growing. Massive hair-loss can occur 2 months after the body starts this protein deprivation syndrome. The affected hair can then often times be pulled out from the follicles very easily, merely by normal brushing. This deficiency can be counteracted and also eliminated by regularly eating the right quantity of essential proteins and, when you are dieting, still consuming sufficient vital nutrients this includes a diet rich in fruits and vegetables along with a good multivitamin.

Natural medicine practitioners report that beneficial results from numerous products can be increased by using natural herbs such as saw palmetto and nettle along with the baldness treatment. Whilst the great majority of treatments for balding are to treat the scalp, nettle and saw palmetto deal with hair shedding from the inside by lowering the the creation of specific hormones, in particular DHT, which may be a major contributor of this affliction. This double tool cure can be a very powerful weapon in fighting a receding hairline.

Wow, I didn't know that extreme dieting could result in hair loss. It's a predicament for women, as they are desperate to be skinny, but then imagine if they ended up losing their hair because of it!
